    Needle Roller Bearings
    Needle roller bearings have a cylindrical needle-type roller with a comparatively small diameter, where the length is greater than the diameter. Needle roller bearings have small cross-sectional height, and compared with other types of bearings, feature high load capacity and rigidity compared to the space taken by the bearing. Another feature is the low inertial force, which is appropriate for oscillating motion. Using these bearings, it is possible to make mechanical equipment smaller and lighter in weight. Also, it is easy to replace a sliding bearing with a Needle roller bearing.

    Large Bearings
    In JIS standards, bearings with a diameter of 180mm or more are called large bearings. At NTN, we have a proven record with various models -- among which are bearings with an outer diameter exceeding 5 m, and single bearings with a load capacity in excess of 14,000 tons.

    Bearing Units

    NTN bearings units combine a double-sealed ball bearing with various types of bearing housing. These are optimal units which are self-aligning at the spherical fitting surface of the bearing and housing. In particular, set screw type bearing units use NTN's unique set screw with a ball, and this is extremely effective for stopping loosening of the set screw, even when there is a vibrating or impact load.

    Bearing Units with Ductile Cast Iron Housing

    In this series, breaking strength has been improved by about 30% over conventional gray cast iron by using ductile spherical graphite cast iron for the housing material. The outer dimensions have been designed to be as small as possible.

    Plummer Blocks
    NTN plummer blocks are bearing boxes for self-aligning roller or ball bearings. Depending on the application, the plummer block has a built in felt seal, rubber seal or labyrinth seal as the sealing device. Each type is lubricated using grease or oil. The standard bearing box body is cast iron, but (depending on the application) may also be made of spheroidal graphite cast iron (ductile cast iron) or cast steel.

    BEARING FOR OFFICE AUTOMATION

    Thin Walled Deep Groove Ball Bearings

    The deep groove ball bearing series has been expanded to add the 67 series. Compact and light weight, the thin wall 67 (6700 - 6706) series design extends the 68 series deep groove ball bearings.

    Rubber/Plastic Molding Type Bearings

    Urethane rubber is formed and cemented to the bearings outside diameter; or, polyacetal or polyethylene plastic is molded or pressed directly to the bearing. Rubber and plastic molded bearings provide high accuracy, low vibration and low noise.

    There products improve functions of office machine such as laser printers, copying and facsimile machines. By making use of the binding force to the inner ring by the coil spring, the unit controls the torque. The unit can also be joined with external parts.

    Angular Ball Bearings with Ceramic Balls for Super High Speed Operation

    These bearings present the super high speed dn value, 2,100,000 (as dmn value; 2,600,000) using air-oil lubrication. Boundary dimensions are equal to the ISO standard series, but super high speed revolution using air-oil lubrication can be obtained. Bearings also operate under high acceleration conditions.

    Compact design of bearing units makes high speed and rigidity possible. Preload on the bearing can be changed in two to three steps according to the spindle rotational speed. It is possible to select a heavy-loading mode in the slow speed range, and the most suitable shaft rigidity and machining conditions in the high speed range with light preload. The grooved shaft design solved the rise of preload due to the compact design of the spindle and the expansion of the bearing inner ring at high speed.

    Product Series for Special Environments

    At NTN we have developed a bearing technology for ultra-high vacuum environments that employ solid lubricants. Meanwhile, with the development of process technology (as exemplified by semiconductor manufacturing in recent years), a need has arisen for vacuum environments that are not only durable, but also clean and corrosion resistant. In response to these requirements, we at NTN have developed new bearings especially suited for corrosive environments - as well as bearings for vacuums and ultra-clean bearings - and are working to consolidate our product line-up to enable us to respond competently to special or complex environments.

    Ball Screws for Special Environments

    All the parts, except the dustproof seal, are made of stainless steel.
    Depending on the environment and operating conditions, the grease for the vacuum is enclosed or the surface treatment (the special PTFE coating or the Ag-ion-plating coating treatment) is processed.
    The products can be used in the environment of low dust generation, in both clean air and vacuum, by processing the special PTFE coating treatment.

    Plastic Sliding Screws

    These models can handle a wide range of environments, with corrosion and heat resistance, by combining the Bearee Pl5010 nut with a stainless (SUS304) screw shaft.
    Lower noise than stainless ball screws.
    Higher screw effectiveness is obtained using a low-friction plastic nut.

    Ceramics Bearings

    These bearings are for ultra-high temperature, low magnetization, and high surface pressure requirements, which cannot be handled even with bearings for general vacuum, clean environments or corrosive environments.

    Plastic Bearings for Special Environments

    These bearings employ plastic for the bearing box and ceramics for the ball, and can be used in corrosive environments with developing fluid and steam.

    Bearings with Solid Grease for Food Machinery

    Bearings with solid grease type P-06 boasts a high degree of safety because its heat-solidifying grease for food machinery is composed of food-grade lubricating grease that complies with the USDA's H-1 standard (permitting contact with food) and super molecular weight polyethylene approved according to an FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) standard.

    Constant Velocity Joint
